Yücel Yanıkdağ is the Associate Professor of History and Global Studies at the University of Richmond in Richmond, VA. He earned his Ph.D. in Islamic History from the Ohio State University. He was the George F. Kennan Member at the Institute for Advanced Study during 2013-2014, and is the author of Healing the Nation: Prisoners of War, Medicine and Nationalism in Turkey, 1914-1939 (Edinburgh, 2013).
