Mr. Perry is a food historian and retired writer for Rolling Stone and the LA Times. He is a specialist in medieval Arab cuisine and is the author of Scents and Flavors: A Syrian Cookbook (New York University Press). In his lecture, he will speak about the gastronomical delights of medieval Cairo.
