On Monday, August 29, Yaara Perlman successfully defended her doctoral dissertation, “Family Relations and Politics in Early Islam,” at her Final Public Oral Examination. The examination committee consisted of her advisor Michael Cook (NES), Lara Harb (NES), Jack Tannous (History), and via Zoom Antoine Borrut (University of Maryland).
