Ekaterina Pukhovaia successfully defended her doctoral dissertation, “Between Sultans and Imams: The State and Political Elites in Yemen (Late 15^th – Middle of 17^th Century),” at her Final Public Oral Examination held Friday, September 10, 2021, via Zoom. The examination committee consisted of her advisor, Michael Cook (NES), M. Qasim Zaman (NES), Bernard Haykel (NES), Marina Rustow (NES), and Jeroen Duindam (Leiden University).
