Sarah Islam Defends Ph.D. Dissertation

On Tuesday, October 25, Sarah Islam successfully defended her doctoral dissertation, “Blasphemy (Sabb al-Rasūl) as a Legal Category in Medieval Islamic History (1st/7th–13th/19th Centuries),” at her Final Public Oral Examination (via Zoom). The examination committee consisted of her advisor Michael Cook (NES), Bernard Haykel (NES), Marina Rustow (NES), M. Qasim Zaman (NES), and Samy Ayoub (University of Texas School of Law).
