This volume is an annotated edition of a 9^th/15^th-century literary anthology of Persian poetry on the affection and love for the House of Prophet Muhammad in pre-Safavid Iran. The book is edited on the basis of a unique manuscript dated 849/1445. It contains 81 panegyrics in praise of the Prophet Muhammad and his House, many by poets who are otherwise unknown. The book is thus an important new source for the history of Persian literature in the Islamic Middle Ages as it adds many new names to the list of the Persian poets in the 11th–15th centuries. A chapter in the beginning of the book attempts to collect all available information on these poets.
